Jackets are the brightest you’ve ever seen, with enormous checks and swirling swingy backs. They go with vivid sweaters and the widest possible Oxford bags, worn shorter than usual to reveal gleaming white lace-ups and tappy 46 two-tone shoes. What a way to get yourself noticed!

  1. I want all of these!! I think it is just me, but so many of the clothes shown in older ads are just so much more appealing! And so much better made than today.

    I wore shocking color stockings in junior high and had loads of fun colors to match my dresses- turquoise that I wore fishnets over at times, yellow, etc.
