This post made my day! Was that Kristine Keeler of "Profumo" infamy in there, too?As a kid in the late '70s-early '80s, I didn't know that so mnay women wore falls and believed that they just grew their hair a lot longer and fuller back then!I even came up with a sort of nickname for hair like that: "The Curry Comb"! It's what James Caan says to Michele Carey (another big hair girl) in the movie "El Dorado."
o natalie. love these!
I've been wanting Baby Jane Holzer hair but I'd have to do a serious amount of growing out the top — which then never looks that good on me. Humph.
OMG I love ALL that wonderful hair!Big hair rules!I am finding my Bump It's awesomely helpful in creating hair close to this………..
… and Francoise Hardy and Sandie Shaw is the second from last. The pain on the morning after wearing 3 wiglets pinned to the back of one's head though …Marisa Berenson was a US big-hair model and Ara Gallant did a how-to feature in US Vogue about 1969.I treasure the memory. Thanks for the gorgeous memory lane.
would you say it's essential to have hair that is one length to achieve 'big hair'?
Thank you everyone!CK – Yes, that is Christine Keeler in there. I was a bit slack on listing everyone's names, apologies!Anonymous – I wouldn't say so. If anything, my hair gets bigger the more layered it is. I'm a bit lacking in layers at the moment because I've been doing curls so much the past year and it's easier for that. But I may relent and get some more put in – especially around the back to help lift the crown. While my hair does 'big' rather well, I still struggle to get my backcombing to stay put – so I might have to try some kind of bump thing or a proper pad perhaps.
Big hair is oh so beautious! xo Mish
Great shots of the big haired beauties!Sal xXx
