Distracted by men. Again.

brighton, menswear, seventies fashion, telegraph magazine

I went to scan a fabulous hotpant-themed fashion spread in the Daily Telegraph Magazine from 1971, and instead I found myself scanning in menswear adverts. Whoops….still, dreamy or what? I am particularly loving Mr Brighton, above. Hotpants tomorrow….

Mmmm. Sometime it seems as if every Brighton-London train you might have boarded from 1960-80 would have been bursting with sexy models and photographers going to and from seaside photoshoots. It's all commuting new media twonks now, grumble mutter.

I did wonder about that myself, but wasn't sure if it was just because I don't see enough modern fashion spreads to know whether people still scramble to do photoshoots on the seafront. Or whether I'm just spotting the vintage ones more, now that I'm up and down to Brighton like a yo-yo!I'm sure there were enough twonks around back then. But at least they would have been better dressed twonks… Sigh.

Oh I do hope you keep up the intermittent menswear features, they're great! It was your recent excursion into men's fashions that gave me the nudge I needed to write up material I'd been sitting on for a year, so thank you for that!As for the talent – number 1 gets my vote too. Number 2 is a bit too flash with his white Jag, and number 3 is sweet but looks a bit shifty to me.
