I was moved to scan this partly because I have just listed a beautiful Janice Wainwright for Simon Massey halter neck dress in silver lurex (presumably from the same collection) over at Vintage-a-Peel. And partly because it’s just a beautiful pair of images – particularly the deliciously creepy mermaid doll. Brrrr.

Possibly the most wonderful illustrations I have ever seen, by the legendary Antonio. They’re actually rather different to much of his output, more playful and human. And of course, as I have blathered on about so many times, this style of underwear is actually perfect as far as I’m concerned.
Plus, ‘Halter the way you look’ appeals to me as a pun. Yes, I’m easily pleased…
Never mind a binder full of women, this guy has got one in a cage! Baffling copy as ever from mid-Sixties menswear advertising. I can’t help but love it…
