I would kill for those heels in the above photo. Both photos are by John Thornton and scanned from Masterpieces of Erotic Photography. I seem to spend a lot of time on my tip-toes, either forced on me by high-heels or just naturally. People think it’s funny, cute or weird, depending on who they are…
I wanted these Chelsea Cobbler boots to fit me so badly. But my spindly calves put paid to that desire, so they’ve just gone up on the website. Then, flicking through a 1970 copy of Nova (as you do), I spy them on the rarely-spotted designer Georgina Linhart. Geek heaven + spindly calves = Geek Hell. Or something…..sigh. Please will somebody very lovely buy them from me?

Every woman’s dream, surely? One thing Mary Quant certainly knew how to do was shoes. And, look!! It’s the brilliantly named Efva Attling again!

Well if ever I wanted to have some toes chopped off, now is definitely the time. Just spotted these amazing Chelsea Cobbler shoes on eBay.
Lo and behold, they’re ones featured in the Vogue spread I posted way back when. Awesomeness, no? Go get ’em you jammy UK4.5-ers! That’s £90 of pure-shoe-joy very well spent, as far as I’m concerned.
One day. One day I shall have lots of money to spend on sparkly Terry De Havilland platform shoes wot fit my feet. Til then, I can but drool at other people’s goodies… Click the images for the eBay auctions and bid away dear readers, let me live vicariously through your feet….
I find I have become quite, quite transfixed by these shoes just listed on eBay. They sort of look like they should be hideous. In the wrong hands they would have been hideous. But they’re not hideous. They’re beautiful. They’re green, they’re silk, they’re diamante.
Rayne shoes were of a very high quality, being shoemakers to the Queen and all that. Mr Rayne also made the shoes Diana Rigg wore in The Avengers. So you know you’re getting something good with Rayne.
They’re also about a size too small for Miss Muggins here, but please someone with 5½ feet buy them. I can’t promise you won’t be so transfixed that you’ll find yourself staring down at them all the time and keep bumping into people, but it’s probably a price worth paying.
Coooooo, Mavis, ain’t they gawgeous!By way of a little tribute, here are two of my favourite pairs of shoes….both by YSL.
Firstly the [faux I think] snakeskin peeptoes I wore to the Sex and the City film, coincidentally on the night he passed away.
Secondly, the black patent peeptoes with red platform soles and heels. Which I wore with my black and red striped Biba dress to the Scissor Sisters gig last summer.
